The People Who Suspend Need Your Help!

The People Who Suspend need your help! Please click the link and contribute like I did!

The media has a strong bias toward sensationalism when covering issues. The motivation to sell advertising space and make a profit all too often trumps the desire to tell the whole truth. We are not all the sadists and masochists that mainstream media frequently depicts us as, although that story will never be told without this documentary, because many of the people practicing this ancient ritual refuse to step into the public spotlight due to fear of being misrepresented and having their reputation damaged. People have lost their jobs after employers have found out about their practice of suspension. They have been shunned from their churches and sometimes even their families. In the most disturbing case, a woman had custody of her child taken from her. This is painfully ignorant and unjust.

Sun Dec 14 2014: Guinness World Record Attempt!!!

This Sunday Dec 14th 2014 at Wicked Tattoo & Piercing Inc. in Maple Ridge, BC we will be making history! My good friend Can Can has flown into town and volunteered to be pierced 10,000 times consecutively in one session by yours truly!

This world record attempt will raise the bar for Guinness World Records in the name of Vancouver's at-risk youth:

Family Services of Greater Vancouver has been providing support to Vancouver’s at-risk youth since 1987. Today, Directions Youth Services, a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, provides integrated services included a 24 hour drop-in centre in downtown Vancouver, our Safehouse and the only Youth exclusive Detox program in BC.

This holiday season we invite you to give the gift of hope to youth. The cold, wet season of winter is here and for many homeless youth here in Vancouver, the dream of a safe and stable home can be a distant one. This year, we are seeing more youth than we have ever seen before at Directions Youth Services Centre–our round-the-clock resource for homeless youth. Our supplies of the basic hygiene necessities are at record lows and we are looking for donations of any personal hygiene products, especially the following items:

-Shampoo (small or travel/hotel sized bottles are ideal)

Goods can be dropped off at any Family Services of Greater Vancouver office or directly at Directions Youth Services Centre. Please visit for more information and more suggestions on ways you can get involved. Together, we can give youth the gift of hope.

***This event is open to the media & public on Sunday December 14th  2014 from noon until 11pm at #1 22335 Lougheed Hwy in Maple Ridge, BC. Directions Youth Services will have a staff member on-site for support and information regarding their organization***
