RJ Salvatierra is a Global Events Manager for ReedPOP Entertainment and Penny Arcade. He received a B.S. degree in Information Systems from the UTSA – The University of Texas at San Antonio. He has previously been active in the area of cloud security as a Network Data Analyst for various government-wide programs. Although, in the last few years he has shifted his career path to his passion for gaming culture and now provides management services in coordinating gaming conferences like PAX (Penny Arcade Expo). His work experience includes Global Client/Partner Relations, Resource Management, Registration Services, PR Communication and Structural Design. He is also a LBK (Left Below Knee) amputee in which he suffered a traumatic vehicle accident at a young age, but has overcome the experience in a very positive way. He has partaken in many sports activities such as parkour, snowboarding and mountain climbing throughout his life and is a strong advocate for the Amputees Collation of America. Recently, he has taken an interest as a hobbyist prosthetic designer and is fascinated with the aesthetics of LED operated lighting modules in artificial limbs. He is currently working on a prototype shell for his prosthetic leg that allows programmable lighting scenes/moods and Bluetooth remote operation.
